George Orwell
George Orwell is the pen name of Eric Arthur Blair. He was born June 25, 1903 and died on January 21, 1950. He was an English Author whos work made a profound consciounsness of social injustice. He greatly opposed totalitarianism and he passionately believed in democratic socialism. He is considered as perhaps the 20th Century's best chronicler of English culture. His most famous works are the satirical novel Animal Farm which depicted the Russian Revolution and its faults using animals and 1984 which is set in a then futuristic dystopia he believed could come about.
